India-born New Zealand spinner Ajaz Patel creates record by taking all 10 wickets in a test innings to become third test cricketer in the world to achieve the feat.
The left arm spinner bagged all the wickets of India’s first innings in the ongoing second test played at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Incidentally, Ajaz was born in Mumbai before migrating to New Zealand when he was 8 years old.
The 33-year-old equaled the records of Indian legend Anil Kumble and England great Jim Laker.
Patel’s 10/119 restricted India to 325 on the second day of test match. For the host team, opener Mayanak Agarwal scored a magnificent test hundred (150 runs) and was ably supported by all-rounder Axar Patel who hit 52 runs.
