NCGG’s Special Capacity Building Program in Delhi Successfully Concludes for Sri Lankan Civil Servants

New Delhi:  The National Centre for Good Governance (NCGG) marked a significant milestone as the first executive batch of its special capacity-building program for senior civil servants from Sri Lanka successfully concluded today in New Delhi. The program, held from February 12 to February 17, 2024, witnessed the participation of fourteen senior civil servant officers from Sri Lanka, led by Mr. Anura Dissanayake, Secretary to the Prime Minister of Sri Lanka.

The Sri Lankan delegation included eminent officials representing key departments and ministries, such as Dr. Dharmasri Kumaratunga, Secretary, Ministry of Technology; Mr. Pradeep Yasarathna, Secretary, Ministry of Public Administration, Home Affairs, Provincial Councils, and Local Government; Mr. Nalaka Kaluwewe, Director-General, Sri Lanka Institute of Development Administration (SLIDA), among others.

The Capacity Building Program featured insightful addresses by prominent Indian leaders, including Minister of State for Personnel, Public Grievances, and Pensions Dr. Jitendra Singh, Secretaries from various Indian ministries, and other key officials. Participants had the opportunity to learn from the rich experiences and leadership insights shared during the program.

Mr. Anura Dissanayake expressed gratitude for the program, highlighting its role in facilitating knowledge transfer and enabling Sri Lanka to adopt India’s best practices and success stories. He commended the Government of India for organizing a comprehensive Capacity Building Program.

Shri V Srinivas, Secretary, Department of Administration Reforms and Public Grievances, and Director-General of NCGG, praised the cordial and constructive engagement between NCGG and SLIDA. He emphasized the institution’s commitment to building long-term collaboration with the Sri Lanka Institute of Development Administration in the coming weeks. He extended thanks to the Ministry of External Affairs, the High Commission of India to Sri Lanka, and all senior officials of the Government of India who contributed to the success of the program.

The program’s success was attributed to the efforts of Dr. A.P. Singh, Course Coordinator, Dr. Sanjeev Sharma, Associate Course Coordinator, Dr. Ghazala Hasan, Associate Course Coordinator, Shri Brijesh Bisht, Training Assistant, and the dedicated training team of NCGG.

The program not only fostered knowledge exchange but also strengthened the bilateral ties between India and Sri Lanka in the domain of good governance and civil service excellence.
