National Council for Transgender Persons (NCTP) Convenes Crucial Meeting to Address Challenges

New Delhi: The National Council for Transgender Persons (NCTP) gathered for a pivotal meeting under the Chairmanship of Shri Saurabh Garg, Secretary, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, at the Dr. Ambedkar International Centre (DAIC) today. The meeting delved into the multifaceted challenges faced by transgender individuals, with a comprehensive agenda covering education, life with dignity, health support, livelihood opportunities, and skill enhancement.

Specific concerns brought to the forefront encompassed the imperative need for unisex toilets, the establishment of shelter homes, distribution of Ayushman Cards, and the provision of GarimaGreh. In response, the Ministry expressed its unwavering commitment to addressing these issues, showcasing a proactive stance towards enhancing the well-being and societal recognition of transgender individuals.

A focal point of discussion revolved around the transgender portal, a visionary centralized platform aimed at streamlining access to resources and support services. This platform seeks to facilitate easy navigation for transgender individuals across various aspects of their lives. The meeting underscored the collective efforts required to overcome existing barriers hindering the complete realization of rights and opportunities for the transgender community.
