
Bhubaneswar: The three-day National Conference on Advancements in Materials Chemistry, organized by the Orissa Chemical Society (OCS), commenced today at the Odisha University of Technology and Research (OUTR). The event was inaugurated by Odisha’s Minister for Science and Technology, Krushna Chandra Patra, who highlighted the pivotal role of chemistry in scientific progress and emphasized the need for establishing a dedicated Institute of Chemistry in the state.
Speaking at the inaugural session, Patra stated, “Science is Chemistry,” underscoring the discipline’s fundamental contributions to technological advancements and societal development.
The session also featured Prof. Ajay Kumar Behera, President of the Odisha Chemical Society, and Prof. Bibhuti Bhusan Biswal, Vice Chancellor of OUTR, as Guests of Honor. Their addresses provided valuable insights into the evolving landscape of materials chemistry and its potential to address real-world challenges.
The conference will include a series of technical sessions and presentations over the next two days, covering the latest advancements in materials chemistry. Researchers, scholars, and practitioners from across the nation are participating to share knowledge, foster collaboration, and discuss innovative solutions.
