
Bhubaneswar: An extensive month-long national campaign shedding light on Anganwadi, titled “Anganwadi: The Lifeline of Rural India,” has been launched in the city by CSOs Odisha Shramajeebee Mancha, Mahila Shramajeebee Mancha, Odisha, and Atmashakti Trust.
The primary objective of this campaign is to involve key stakeholders at the grassroots level, including policymakers, CSOs, media, and sectoral experts. Through its Grassroots Narratives initiative, the campaign aims to collect valuable feedback and recommendations. These insights will be directed to both state and central governments, contributing to the ongoing enhancement of Anganwadi centers nationwide.
The dignitaries at the event emphasized on the creation of a communication platform for individuals at the last mile to channel their voices to policymakers, thereby enhancing the efficacy of Anganwadi services.
The event underscored the pivotal role of Anganwadi centers in child welfare and early childhood development. Attendees included Anganwadi Workers, Matru committee and Janch Committee members under ICDS, PRI Members, people collectives, and representatives from NGOs/INGOs. These participants shared grassroots experiences and proposed actionable measures to improve the functionality of Anganwadi centers.
