Ministry of Ayush Launches Film Series Highlighting National Ayush Mission’s Transformative Impact

New Delhi: The Ministry of Ayush unveiled a compelling film series titled “Ayush for All: Holistic Health Care through National Ayush Mission” today, showcasing the remarkable achievements and transformative outcomes of the National Ayush Mission (NAM). The series was inaugurated by Prataprao Jadhav, Union Minister of State (IC), Ministry of Ayush, and Union Minister of State, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare.

The initiative aligns with the Ministry’s commitment to providing equitable, affordable, and holistic healthcare to citizens, particularly in remote and underserved regions.

The National Ayush Mission, a Centrally Sponsored Scheme, has played a pivotal role in integrating Ayush systems into mainstream public health, promoting preventive care, and strengthening Ayush educational institutions.

NAM has established 167 Integrated Ayush Hospitals and upgraded 416 Ayush Hospitals and 5,036 dispensaries. Additionally, co-location initiatives have benefited 2,322 Primary Health Centres (PHCs), 715 Community Health Centres (CHCs), and 314 District Hospitals annually. The mission ensures the supply of essential Ayush medicines to 996 hospitals and 12,405 dispensaries each year.

Support for Ayush educational institutions has been a significant focus, with 16 new institutions being established and the upgrade of 112 existing ones.

NAM also promotes holistic wellness through the establishment of 3,883 Yoga Wellness Centres, 1,055 Ayush Grams, and 12,500 Ayushman Arogya Mandirs across the nation.

Prataprao Jadhav highlighted the success of NAM, stating, “The National Ayush Mission has empowered communities with accessible and cost-effective healthcare based on traditional practices. This film series aims to showcase Ayush’s pivotal role in reducing disease burden and promoting wellness nationwide.”

Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha, Secretary, Ministry of Ayush, emphasized, “NAM focuses on strengthening Ayush healthcare services and promoting medical pluralism, transforming public health by improving access to preventive and promotive care.”

Kavita Garg, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Ayush, added, “The film series will be available on the Ministry’s official YouTube channel, making information about NAM’s initiatives accessible to all citizens.”

The series features real-life stories of individuals whose lives have been positively impacted by NAM. These accounts illustrate how the mission, in collaboration with state and UT governments, has improved healthcare access and reduced out-of-pocket expenditures for rural and underserved populations.

By bridging healthcare gaps and promoting a holistic wellness model, NAM continues to transform lives and contribute to a healthier, more sustainable India. The Ministry of Ayush remains committed to leveraging traditional healthcare systems to achieve its vision of holistic health for all.
