Ganjam: With Cyclone ‘Dana’ fast approaching, Minister for Commerce & Transport Bibhuti Bhushan Jena conducted a comprehensive inspection of Ganjam district today to assess the preparations being made to mitigate the cyclone’s impact. The minister visited key areas, including Gopalpur, Chikiti, Khalikote, and Chhatrapur, which are likely to bear the brunt of the storm.
During his visit, Minister Jena supervised the facilities provided by the administration, including food and other essential services at shelters. He assured that residents of seaside areas have been safely relocated to shelters and emphasized the government’s commitment to ensuring zero casualties.
“Preparations are being carried out meticulously, and I urge everyone to take necessary precautions and avoid panic. The government is taking all steps to protect the public and manage the situation effectively,” Minister Jena said.
Yesterday, the minister chaired a preparatory meeting with Ganjam District Collector Dibyajyoti Parida and other senior officials to finalize the response strategy. Khallikote MLA Purna Chandra Sethi and Chhatrapur MLA Krushna Chandra Naik also joined Minister Jena today during his on-ground inspection of the vulnerable areas.
The administration is working round the clock to minimize the cyclone’s impact, ensuring that residents are provided with the necessary support during this critical period.
