
Bhubaneswar: Bill Gates, co-founder of Microsoft and renowned philanthropist, visited Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik at Naveen Niwas, the chief minister’s residence, on Wednesday.
Chief Minister Patnaik took to his X handle (formerly Twitter) to share the news, expressing his delight at having a wonderful discussion with Gates. The conversation revolved around Odisha’s technology-driven initiatives for farmer empowerment and various welfare programs, including Jaga Mission, Mission Shakti, School Transformation, BSKY, and healthcare transformation.
Patnaik extended his appreciation to the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation for its support in fostering innovation and extending inclusive benefits to the people of Odisha.
Furthermore, Patnaik thanked Gates for acknowledging and praising Odisha’s welfare initiatives. He emphasized the success achieved across different sectors through the 5T transformative governance approach.
