Messi not to retire from international football

Lionel Messi has confirmed that he will continue playing international matches and not retire. He confirmed this after the FIFA World Cup victory.

Messi’s team Argentina lifted the World Cup trophy defeating France on penalties. This Argentina’s third World Cup.

Messi, popularly referred as Goat, stated that he wants to play international football and wants to wear the national team jersey again with the tag of world champion.

“No, I’m NOT gonna retire from the national team. I want to keep playing as World Cup champions with Argentina shirt,” said Messi.

After the semi-final against Croatia, Messi had announced that the 2022 final will be his last World cup.
