Bhubaneswar: The Directorate of Education has mandated Yoga or Pranayama in schools across Odisha. This decision follows a review meeting chaired by the commissioner on May 6.
According to the new directive, students will participate in Yoga sessions for 10 minutes immediately after the morning prayer. These sessions will include standing Yoga poses and Pranayama exercises.
The initiative aims to promote physical and mental well-being among students. Additionally, the state government will select some students for national-level competitions. Schools with outstanding performances at the district level will receive special kits to further encourage participation and excellence in Yoga.
