‘Article 370’ wins Best Feature Film at 72nd National Film Awards

New Delhi: The winners of the 72nd National Film Awards for 2024 were announced on Friday, with Article 370 emerging as the Best Feature Film, while Yami Gautam bagged the Best Actress award for her performance in the film. Veteran actor Mammootty and Bollywood star Kartik Aaryan shared the Best Actor award for Bramayugam and Chandu Champion, respectively.

The awards, which honour excellence in Indian cinema, recognised outstanding achievements across feature films, non-feature films and writings on cinema.

Among the non-feature categories, Bhangaar won the Best Non-Feature Film award, while Ram-Nami was adjudged the Best Documentary.

Actor-director Randeep Hooda received the Best Debut Director award for Swatantrya Veer Savarkar. Several commercially successful films also figured among the winners, including Kalki 2898 AD, Amaran, Pushpa: The Rule Part-02, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 and Stree 2, highlighting the diversity of this year’s honours.

The awards were announced by Feature Film Jury Chairperson Jayaraj, Non-Feature Film Jury Chairperson Aseem Sinha and Best Writing on Cinema Jury Chairperson A. Chandrasekhar in the presence of Joint Secretary (Films) Dr Ajay Nagabhushan M.N. and Principal Director General of the Press Information Bureau Dhirendra Ojha.
