Maj Gen Harsh Chhibber Assumes Command of College of Defence Management

Secunderabad: Major General Harsh Chhibber took over as the Commandant of the College of Defence Management (CDM) in Secunderabad on May 31, 2024, succeeding Rear Admiral Sanjay Datt. An esteemed alumnus of the National Defence Academy, Maj Gen Chhibber was commissioned into the Army Service Corps (ASC) in December 1988.

Maj Gen Chhibber brings a wealth of academic and military expertise to his new role. He holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Public Policy, alongside two M.Phil degrees in Business Management and Public Administration. His professional military education includes the Technical Staff Officers Course (TSOC), Higher Defence Management Course (HDMC), and the Advanced Professional Programme in Public Administration (APPPA).

Throughout his illustrious career, Maj Gen Chhibber has held several significant assignments across the Eastern, Northern, and Western sectors. His command experience includes leading a Para ASC company, an ASC Battalion, and the ASC Training Centre. He has also served as Brigadier General Staff (Information System) in the Eastern Sector and as Major General (Operational Logistics) in the Northern Sector.

His academic contributions are equally notable. He has been an instructor at the Army Service Corps Centre and College and has served as Directing Staff and Head of the Financial Management Department at the College of Defence Management. The software applications developed and implemented under his guidance are now extensively used across numerous units.
