
Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has approved the development and beautification of the famous Mahima Shrine at Joranda in Dhenkanal district.
An estimated Rs 112 crore will be invested for the project.
Under the project, the reconstruction of the Mahima Samaja Peetha, a public health centre (PHC), 200 toilets meant for use by Sadhus, devotees and visitors, a boundary wall, restoration of Bada Pokhari (an existing pond), and construction of a bus stand will be carried out.
As per the proposal, an all-around infrastructure development of the shrine along with various facilities for the devotees will be done.
For beautification, 200 palm trees and 200 Banyan trees will be planted and the entire area will have internal roads along with street lights.
On May 29, 5T Secretary VK Pandian visited Mahima Shrine and discussed with the Sadhus about development and beautification.
