
Bhubaneswar: The Men’s Artistic Gymnastics (MAG) competitions at the Junior & Senior Artistic Gymnastics National Championships 2026–27 concluded on a high note, with athletes delivering standout performances across apparatus finals at the Kalinga Stadium.
Hosted at the Gymnastics High Performance Centre, the championship witnessed intense competition in both junior and senior categories, reflecting the growing depth of gymnastics talent in India.
In the junior category, Harschit Damodaran emerged as the star performer, clinching multiple gold medals in Floor Exercise, Still Rings, Vault and Horizontal Bar. Other notable winners included Swarnim Jaiswal, who topped the Pommel Horse event, and Nishad Narvane, who secured gold in Parallel Bars along with podium finishes in other events.
Among senior competitors, Satyajit Mondal delivered an impressive performance, winning gold in both Floor Exercise and Vault. Siddarth Verma claimed the top spot in Pommel Horse, while Adari Navin Sai Krishna excelled in Still Rings. Gold medals in Parallel Bars and Horizontal Bar were secured by Gaurav Kumar and Shayan Sharma respectively.
Odisha athletes also put up commendable performances, with Tapan Mohanty finishing sixth in Floor Exercise and Sumit Dhali securing seventh place in Pommel Horse.
The conclusion of the men’s events marks a significant milestone in the championship, showcasing the technical excellence and competitive spirit of gymnasts from across the country. The event was attended by officials from the Gymnastics Federation of India and the Department of Sports and Youth Services, highlighting continued institutional support for the sport.
With the men’s competitions wrapped up, attention now shifts to the Women’s Artistic Gymnastics (WAG) events, scheduled from April 30 to May 3 at the same venue.
