
Bhubaneswar: A well marked low pressure area over the Southeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining South Andaman Sea intensified into a depression on Tuesday evening.
The system is likely to intensify into Cyclonic Storm over southeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining areas of East Central Bay of Bengal and Andaman Sea on May 10.
The Cyclonic storm will be called ‘Mocha’. As per the forecast, it is likely to move initially north-northwestwards towards east-central Bay of Bengal till May11. Thereafter, it is likely to recurve gradually and move north-northeastwards towards Bangladesh-Myanmar coasts.
The system is expected to make landfall between Bangladesh and Myanmar around May 14.
