Learning Resource Centre Unveiled at World Skill Center in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: In a significant stride towards advancing education, the World Skill Center (WSC) in Bhubaneswar inaugurated an ultramodern Learning Resource Centre (LRC), designed like a library. The newly launched facility is likely to greatly benefit students enrolled in various advanced courses at the World Skill Center.

The Learning Resource Centre has been made in association with Singapore-based ITE Education Services.

Inaugurating the centre, Chairperson of Odisha Skill Development Authority, and CEO of the World Skill Center, Alka Misra said, “The collaboration with ITEES, a leading name in skill training based in Singapore, has resulted in the development of the Learning Resource Centre at the World Skill Center. The cutting-edge facilities available here will undoubtedly expand our students’ knowledge horizons, offering insights into the latest global technologies.”

The Learning Resource Centre houses a wealth of resources, including various books, journals, and magazines spanning diverse subjects. Special ‘Reading Pods’ have been designated for students, providing a conducive environment for focused learning. Additionally, advanced amenities such as an audio-visual room and a discussion room aim to enhance the overall learning experience.

A notable feature of the center is its Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR) facility. This innovative technology allows students to visualize simulations across various subjects, offering an immersive learning experience that complements traditional classroom and hands-on learning methods.

Employing modern technology, the LRC incorporates Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) for secure entry and exit. The provision of online kiosks further streamlines the process of checking in and checking out books, saving valuable learning time for the students.
