Landslide Disrupts Train Services in Rayagada Division; Several Trains Cancelled

Bhubaneswar: Train services in the Rayagada Division of East Coast Railway have been disrupted following a landslide between Maligura and Chhatariput stations, prompting cancellation and partial curtailment of several services.

The railway has taken the measures as a safety precaution and to facilitate restoration work in the affected section. Some trains have been cancelled, while others will either terminate or originate from Koraput instead of Jagdalpur.

The following trains will remain cancelled on September 27 and 28:

• 18107 Rourkela–Jagdalpur Express — September 28 and 29.

The following services will remain cancelled on September 28 and 29:

• 58502 Kirandul–Visakhapatnam Passenger
• 58501 Visakhapatnam–Kirandul Passenger
• 18516 Kirandul–Visakhapatnam Express
• 18515 Visakhapatnam–Kirandul Express
• 18108 Jagdalpur–Rourkela Express

Meanwhile, Train No. 18005 Howrah–Jagdalpur Express, which started from Howrah on September 26 and 27, will be short-terminated at Koraput. The section between Koraput and Jagdalpur will remain cancelled.

In the opposite direction, Train No. 18006 Jagdalpur–Howrah Express, scheduled to originate from Jagdalpur on September 28 and 29, will instead originate from Koraput. Its Jagdalpur-Koraput section will remain cancelled.

Similarly, Train No. 18448 Jagdalpur–Bhubaneswar Hirakhand Express, scheduled to originate from Jagdalpur on September 28 and 29, will also be short-originated from Koraput, with services between Jagdalpur and Koraput cancelled.

East Coast Railway has advised passengers to check the status of their trains before starting their journey and make travel arrangements accordingly.
