
Kurukshetra: The Vice Chancellor of Kurukshetra University, Prof. Som Nath Sachdeva, inaugurated a marathon, awareness cum exhibition, and extension lecture under the Mission LiFE campaign at Kurukshetra University today. The event also marked the formal inauguration of activities by the Eco Club of Kurukshetra University, with the Vice Chancellor administering the oath of Mission LiFE to all participants.
Addressing the gathering, Vice Chancellor Prof. Som Nath Sachdeva emphasized the crucial role of youth in environmental conservation efforts. He highlighted that Mission LiFE represents a grassroots movement aimed at fostering environmental sustainability and bringing India closer to nature. Notably, in 2021, India championed the concept of environmental lifestyle on the global stage through the United Nations.
The program was organized jointly by the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) India and Kurukshetra University in collaboration with the EIACP program of the Ministry of Environment, Forest, and Climate Change. As part of the initiative, all students will participate in the Earth Hour program on March 23rd, aligning themselves with the global campaign for environmental action.
The inauguration of Mission LiFE at Kurukshetra University underscores the institution’s commitment to promoting environmental awareness and sustainability among its students and the wider community. By engaging in activities such as marathons, exhibitions, and extension lectures, participants are encouraged to actively contribute to the mission of protecting and preserving the environment for future generations.
