Kiren Rijiju Presents Sacred Chadar at Ajmer Dargah, Unveils New Initiatives for Pilgrims

Ajmer: Union Minister for Minority Affairs and Parliamentary Affairs Kiren Rijiju today presented a sacred Chadar on behalf of Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the revered shrine of Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti in Ajmer. The presentation was part of the annual Urs, a significant event that celebrates the teachings of the Sufi saint and serves as a symbol of harmony, spirituality, and devotion.

During the event, Rijiju announced several initiatives to enhance the experience of pilgrims visiting the Dargah. Among these was the release of the Operations Manual for Urs, a detailed guide designed to ensure the seamless organization of the event. The manual outlines protocols for managing crowds, maintaining security, addressing healthcare needs, and incorporating sustainability measures to uphold the sanctity of the occasion.

The minister also launched a new Dargah Web Portal and the “Garib Nawaz” App, both of which aim to modernize services for devotees. These platforms provide pilgrims with essential information, including event schedules, lodging options, and other conveniences, while promoting transparency and accessibility in line with the Government of India’s Digital India initiative.

Addressing the gathering, Rijiju emphasized the significance of the Urs as an event that transcends boundaries of faith and culture, bringing people together in unity. He highlighted the importance of the newly introduced measures in preserving the sanctity of the event while ensuring an enriched experience for all attendees.

The event was conducted by the Dargah Committee, Dargah Khwaja Saheb, and witnessed the participation of several dignitaries, including Minister of State for Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Bhagirath Choudhary, Secretary for Minority Affairs Dr. Chandra Shekhar Kumar, representatives of the Sajjadanashin, and members of both Anjumans of Khadims.
