Kiren Rijiju Assumes Office as Union Minister of Parliamentary Affairs

New Delhi: Kiren Rijiju took charge as the Union Minister of Parliamentary Affairs today at Sansad Bhawan, signaling a renewed commitment to smooth and effective functioning of the Parliament.

Joining him in assuming office were Union Ministers of State in the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs, Arjun Ram Meghwal and Dr L Murugan. The outgoing Union Minister of Parliamentary Affairs, Pralhad Joshi, graced the occasion with his presence, offering his support and guidance to the new team.

Addressing the media after assuming office, Rijiju emphasized the importance of constructive debate and cooperation within the Parliament. He stressed that instead of focusing on numerical strength, members should harness the power of their voices for meaningful discussions and deliberations.

“There is no need to pull each other down on the basis of numerical strength. Inside the house, one should use vocal power for good debate,” Rijiju stated, underlining the government’s commitment to reaching out to all sections to ensure the smooth functioning of the Parliament.

Expressing gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for entrusting him with such a crucial responsibility, Rijiju affirmed the ministry’s dedication to fulfilling the Prime Minister’s vision of running the Parliament smoothly by fostering inclusivity and cooperation among all members.

“We are committed to the job, and we will ensure whatever it takes, we will reach out to everyone,” Rijiju asserted, calling for cooperation from all political parties and members of both the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha to achieve this common goal.
