Rudraprayag: The sacred precincts of Kedarnath Dham in Uttarakhand are once again abuzz with spiritual fervor as the series of special puja rituals commenced on Sunday in preparation for the reopening of the holy shrine on May 10.
The ceremonial proceedings commenced with the worship of Lord Bhairavnath at the Omkareshwar temple in Ukhimath, the winter seat of Panch Kedar. Panch Kedar comprises five revered shrines of Lord Shiva, including Kedarnath, Madhmaheshwar, Tungnath, Rudranath, and Kalpnath. The rituals, conducted with utmost devotion, continued late into the night.
Tomorrow, the ‘Panchmukhi Doli Yatra’ will set off from Ukhimath carrying the Panchmukhi Bhogmurti of Baba Kedarnath, a significant milestone in the ceremonial preparations. The yatra will traverse through various stops before reaching the revered Kedarnath Dham on May 9.
The journey of the Panchmukhi Doli Yatra will include stops at the Vishwanath temple in Guptkashi on May 7, followed by Fata on May 8, and Gaurikund on the same day. Finally, on May 9, the procession will culminate at the sacred Kedarnath Dham, heralding the imminent reopening of its doors to devotees.
