Kane Williamson Breaks Records with 30th Test Century, Surpasses Bradman and Kohli

Mount Maunganui: Kane Williamson, the World No. 1 Test batsman, kicked off 2024 with a stellar performance, scoring his 30th Test century against South Africa at Bay Oval, Mount Maunganui. With this feat, Williamson surpassed the legendary Sir Donald Bradman’s record of 29 centuries in Test Cricket and moved ahead of his contemporary Virat Kohli in the all-time list of hundreds.

The 33-year-old batsman showcased his prowess by forming an unbeaten 219-run partnership with all-rounder Rachin Ravindra, who also notched his maiden century with an unbeaten 118*.

Since the initiation of his test career in 2010, Williamson has earned acclaim for his exceptional technique against fast bowlers, solidifying his position as one of New Zealand’s finest batsmen after Martin Crowe.

Having achieved his sixth double century against Pakistan in December 2022, Williamson now holds the record for the most Test hundreds and double hundreds by a New Zealand batsman. This remarkable achievement makes him the first batter from New Zealand to score five double-hundreds in a Test match.

With 96 test matches under his belt, Williamson boasts an impressive tally of 8375 test runs at an outstanding average of over 55.
