Kalinga Super Cup 2025 Set to Kick Off in Bhubaneswar from April 20

Bhubaneswar: Football fever is set to grip Odisha as the Kalinga Super Cup 2025 kicks off at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar on April 20, promising fans a fortnight of electrifying action. The grand finale is slated for May 3.

With football enthusiasts across the state buzzing with excitement, Director of Sports and Youth Services, Deepankar Mohapatra, conducted a comprehensive review of the on-ground arrangements on Friday to ensure a smooth and world-class sporting experience. His inspection covered logistics, infrastructure readiness, and operational protocols, underscoring Odisha’s commitment to hosting premier sporting events.

All 13 teams from the Indian Super League (ISL) and three from the I-League were initially set to compete in the prestigious knockout tournament. However, with Churchill Brothers withdrawing, ISL champions Mohun Bagan Super Giant have been given a bye and will begin their campaign directly from the quarterfinals.

The remaining 14 teams will battle it out in the pre-quarterfinals, with defending champions East Bengal facing off against Kerala Blasters in a high-voltage opening clash on Sunday evening.

Odisha has steadily emerged as a hub for Indian football, regularly hosting major national and international fixtures. The Kalinga Stadium, known for its vibrant atmosphere and top-notch facilities, will once again be the epicenter of Indian football over the next two weeks.

With strong backing from the state government and enthusiastic local support, the Kalinga Super Cup 2025 is expected to deliver a thrilling blend of strategy, skill, and sporting spirit.
