The inaugural clash between two football giants—East Bengal FC and Kerala Blasters FC—set the tone for the tournament, with Kerala Blasters FC clinching a thrilling victory in a match packed with action and high emotions.
The tournament, which will run until May 3, promises intense competition among the nation’s top football clubs. With 15 premier clubs, including 13 from the Indian Super League (ISL) and two from the I-League, this year’s edition has switched to a knockout format, ensuring high-stakes drama in every fixture.
The opening ceremony witnessed the esteemed presence of Odisha Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida, Sports and Youth Services Minister Suryabanshi Suraj, and Ekamra MLA Babu Singh. The dignitaries extended their heartfelt best wishes to the players and expressed pride in Odisha’s growing status as a sporting hub.
