
Bhubaneswar: The All India Senior National Ranking Badminton Tournament wrapped up on a high note today at Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar, drawing the curtains on an intense week of rallies, smashes, and remarkable athleticism that brought together the country’s finest shuttlers.
The week-long tournament, held from July 8 to 15, saw the participation of over 1,500 players from across India. Athletes competed fiercely in various formats including men’s and women’s singles, doubles, and mixed doubles, turning the stadium into a vibrant arena of sporting excellence and national pride.
The closing ceremony was held in the presence of Bhaskar Jyoti Sharma, Principal Secretary, Sports and Youth Services Department, Government of Odisha, and Rajesh Patil, President of the Odisha State Badminton Association. Both dignitaries lauded the players for their spirited performances and distributed trophies and certificates to the winners and runners-up across categories.
Speaking at the event, officials highlighted Odisha’s continued commitment to hosting national and international sporting events, with the Kalinga Stadium once again proving to be a world-class venue. They emphasized the importance of such tournaments in nurturing future Olympians and inspiring grassroots participation in sports.
