Javelin pierces the neck of a student in Bolangir

Bhubaneswar: In a shocking incident, a 14-year-old boy was critically a javelin injured after a javelin pierced through his neck during a school sports event in Bolangir. The incident happened during the annual school event held at Agalpur Panchayat High School.

The javelin pierced through the throat of a student of the ninth standard. He was immediately taken to Bhima Bhoi medical college and hospital to remove the javelin .

Expressed concern over the accident Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has directed to provide better treatment to the boy. The treatment expenditure will be met from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund.

The family members of the victim blamed the school authorities for the incident.

As per the reports, the javelin has been successfully removed from his neck.
