Invitation Open for National Road Safety Short Film Festival Submissions

Bhubaneswar: In an effort to amplify the message of Road Safety, the 2nd edition of the National Road Safety Short Film Festival has opened its doors for entries. The festival aims to foster greater awareness and collaboration in the realm of road safety, ultimately reducing road accidents and related fatalities. The deadline for submission is 17 November 2023.

At the festival’s launch event, Tukuni Sahu, Minister of Commerce & Transport, emphasized the potential of short films as powerful tools for spreading awareness about Road Safety. Sunil Kr. Bansal, DGP, Odisha, highlighted the urgent need for collective action in addressing the insensitivity towards road accident deaths.

The festival will feature two categories, Odia language and Non-Odia language, with English subtitles being mandatory for all entries. Winners will be selected by a distinguished panel of film industry professionals and luminaries from various sectors. Notably, the festival has allocated a generous sum of Rs. 8 lakhs in cash prizes across different categories.

The jury panel includes notable figures such as Archita Sahu, Film Actor & Model, Arun Bothra, IPS, Addl. DG, CID-CB & MD, CRUT, Kuna Tripathy, Chairman, OFDC & Odia Film Actor, and Sabyasachi Mishra, Odia Film Actor & Social Worker, among others.
