International Women’s Day Webinar to Focus on Empowering Women in Civil Service

New Delhi:  Commemorating International Women’s Day, the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances is set to host a virtual round-table webinar titled “Women in Civil Service” at 3 pm on March 8. This event aims to celebrate the achievements of women in civil service while addressing the challenges and advocating for policies that promote gender equality.

The webinar is expected to draw the participation of officials from various Ministries and Departments, State Administrative Reforms Departments, and District Collectors, fostering a diverse and inclusive discussion on women’s roles in public service.

Lead Speakers and Their Notable Contributions:

  1. Smt. Sujata Chaturvedi: As the Secretary of the Department of Sports, Government of India, Smt. Sujata Chaturvedi has been a driving force behind initiatives promoting women’s participation and empowerment in the field of sports. Her insights are anticipated to shed light on the parallels between sports and civil service, highlighting the importance of gender inclusivity.
  2. Smt. Anita Praveen: Serving as the Secretary in the Ministry of Food Processing Industries, Government of India, Smt. Anita Praveen has demonstrated exemplary leadership in the agro-processing sector. Her expertise is expected to provide valuable perspectives on the role of women in shaping policies related to food processing and agriculture.
  3. Smt. Nidhi Khare: As an Officer on Special Duty in the Department of Consumer Affairs, Government of India, Smt. Nidhi Khare has been actively involved in consumer protection initiatives. Her contribution to the discussion will focus on the importance of incorporating diverse perspectives in policy-making and ensuring consumer rights are safeguarded.
