
Victoria, Seychelles: INS Sunayna, an Offshore Patrol Vessel of the Indian Navy based at the Southern Naval Command, entered Port Victoria in Seychelles on June 15, 2024, accompanied by Seychelles Coast Guard Ship (SCGS) Zoroaster. SCGS Zoroaster had recently completed a short refit at Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers Ltd (GRSE) in India.
Upon arrival, INS Sunayna was warmly received by officials from the Seychelles Coast Guard and the Embassy of India. The visit marks a significant step in strengthening maritime cooperation between the two nations.
During the visit, personnel from the Indian Navy and the Seychelles Defence Forces will engage in various official and social interactions, including cross-deck visits. The joint activities will also encompass joint Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) surveillance operations with the Seychelles Coast Guard.
This visit aligns with India’s SAGAR (Security and Growth for All in the Region) vision, aimed at enhancing security and promoting growth through mutual cooperation in the Indian Ocean Region.
