Inox Solar to Set Up Rs 4,000 Crore Solar Manufacturing Plant in Odisha, Create 3,400 Jobs

Dhenkanal: In a major boost to India’s renewable energy manufacturing ecosystem, Inox Solar, a subsidiary of Inox Clean Energy, has been allotted land by the Odisha government in Dhenkanal district for setting up a state-of-the-art 4.8 GW solar cell and 4.8 GW solar module manufacturing facility. The project, with an estimated investment of Rs 4,000 crore, has received clearance from the High-Level Clearance Authority of Odisha.

The facility is expected to generate over 3,400 direct and indirect jobs, offering a significant economic uplift to the region while reinforcing India’s commitment to clean energy transition and Atmanirbhar Bharat in green technology manufacturing.

The proposed plant marks a critical milestone in Inox Solar’s expansion plans and is aligned with the country’s broader push towards self-reliance in solar technology and reducing dependence on imports for critical clean energy components.

This development comes close on the heels of another major announcement by the INOXGFL Group. In March 2025, Inox Wind Limited, another group company, secured a significant order from a global clean energy company to supply 51 wind turbines (3 MW each) — totaling 153 MW — in Tamil Nadu. The order also includes limited Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) responsibilities along with multi-year operations and maintenance services.

The twin milestones highlight the INOXGFL Group’s growing footprint in the renewable energy sector, spanning both solar and wind segments, and its efforts to support India’s energy security through large-scale manufacturing and deployment of clean energy infrastructure.
