Influencers from 10 Asian Nations Explore Odisha’s Culture, Heritage and Development

Bhubaneswar: A delegation of social media influencers and content creators from ten Asian countries visited Odisha as part of a familiarisation tour aimed at showcasing the state’s cultural richness and developmental progress to global audiences.

The visit, held from April 16 to 19, was initiated by the Ministry of External Affairs and facilitated in the state by the Department of Information and Public Relations Odisha. The delegation included participants from Bhutan, Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia, Mongolia, Myanmar, Nepal, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam, representing diverse digital domains such as travel, food, lifestyle, wellness, history, and documentary filmmaking.

During their stay, the group explored key heritage and modern development sites across Bhubaneswar and nearby regions. At the Khandagiri Udayagiri Caves, they gained insights into the history of ancient Kalinga, Jain traditions, and rock-cut architecture.

The delegation also visited the World Skill Center, where they observed globally aligned skill development training in sectors such as hospitality, construction, and mechatronics. Participants engaged in hands-on experiences, including virtual reality-based training modules and demonstrations in beauty, wellness, and advanced technical fields.

A major highlight of the tour was the visit to Raghurajpur Heritage Crafts Village, where influencers interacted with artisans and experienced traditional art forms like Pattachitra painting and palm-leaf engraving.

The itinerary also included the iconic Konark Sun Temple, where the group witnessed the grandeur of its chariot-shaped structure and intricate stone carvings, reflecting Odisha’s architectural brilliance.

Participants described the visit as enriching and memorable, appreciating the state’s cultural vibrancy, cuisine, and hospitality. Many expressed interest in returning for future collaborations and engagements.
