
Bhubaneswar: On Thursday, Industries Minister Sampad Chandra Swain conducted a comprehensive review of the Seafood Park at Deras, assessing various ongoing projects and engaging with stakeholders. During his visit, Minister Swain toured multiple enterprises within the park and assured stakeholders that their concerns would be addressed promptly.
The Seafood Park spans 151 acres, of which 88 acres have been allocated for industrial purposes by IDCO (Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation). Seventeen organizations have been granted space to set up their enterprises, with three already operational and four under construction. Additionally, ten organizations have secured land and are in the process of starting their enterprises. Minister Swain encouraged these organizations to expedite their projects, emphasizing that the park is expected to create employment for 10,000 women and 15,000 youths.
Minister Swain also announced plans to provide hostel accommodations for employees in the industrial area and highlighted the government’s commitment to industrialization. He revealed that discussions with various agencies are underway to support the establishment of 11 more parks in different districts.
Accompanying the Minister during his visit were IDCO Managing Director Bhupinder Singh Poonia, Executive Director Suresh Chandra Dalai, CGM Bijay Chandra Tripathy, ADM Bhubaneswar Rudra Narayan Mohanty, and other senior officials. The Minister reiterated the government’s dedication to fostering industrial growth and providing ample employment opportunities in the state.
