Mumbai,India-March 15 2015: Indigo Flight Taking off Mumbai Domestic Airport
Bhubaneswar: In a significant boost to connectivity and economic growth in Odisha, IndiGo announced the launch of new daily direct flights between Mumbai and Jharsuguda starting March 1, 2025.
The new service aims to strengthen inter-state connectivity and promote increased trade and economic opportunities for both cities. IndiGo’s statement highlighted that this marks the airline’s fourth direct connection to/from Jharsuguda, following Bengaluru, Delhi, and Kolkata.
The Mumbai-Jharsuguda flight will depart from Mumbai at 10:55 am and land in Jharsuguda at 1:00 pm. The return flight will take off from Jharsuguda at 2:20 pm and arrive in Mumbai at 4:15 pm.
The addition of this route will provide residents of Jharsuguda and nearby regions with seamless access to Mumbai, one of India’s largest metropolitan hubs for commerce, industry, and entertainment.
The expansion has been warmly received by travelers who had long demanded better air connectivity to Mumbai. “By connecting Jharsuguda with Mumbai, a critical hub for commerce and industry, we aim to position Jharsuguda as a key gateway for growth and development in the region,” said Vinay Malhotra, IndiGo’s Head of Global Sales.
The new flight service is expected to significantly boost trade, tourism, and economic opportunities in western Odisha. Jharsuguda, often referred to as Odisha’s “Powerhouse” due to its industrial prominence, is poised to benefit from enhanced connectivity to Mumbai, a major commercial hub.
