Indian Women’s Hockey Team Announced for FIH Pro League 2024-25 Bhubaneswar Leg

New Delhi: Hockey India has announced the 24-member Indian Women’s Hockey Team for the Bhubaneswar leg of the FIH Pro League 2024-25, scheduled to take place at the Kalinga Hockey Stadium from February 15 to 25, 2025. India will face England, the Netherlands, Spain, and Germany, with each team playing twice during the exciting phase of the international tournament. The Indian women’s team will kick off their campaign against England on February 15.

Team Composition

The squad consists of experienced players and rising stars, with Salima Tete being appointed as Captain and Navneet Kaur as Vice-Captain. The team will be led by a strong defensive and midfield unit, while the attack has promising forwards capable of delivering under pressure.

Speaking about the team selection, Indian Women’s Hockey Team Chief Coach Harendra Singh expressed his satisfaction with the squad chosen for the Bhubaneswar leg of the FIH Pro League 2024-25.

“We are pleased with the squad we have selected. This team brings a good blend of experience and youthful energy, which is crucial as we prepare to face some of the best teams in the world. I am particularly excited to see how some of the younger players perform, especially those who have impressed in the Women’s Hockey India League,” Singh said.

He emphasized the importance of a balanced team, saying, “We have built a squad with strong options in every position. We are confident in the team’s preparation, and we believe we have the potential to deliver strong performances in this prestigious tournament.”
