Indian Navy Gathers for Third Station Commanders’ Workshop in New Delhi

New Delhi:  The Indian Navy is set to host its third Station Commanders’ Workshop, scheduled from March 18th to 20th, at New Delhi. Following the successful conduct of similar workshops at INS Hamla in Mumbai and INS Circars in the Eastern Naval Command, this edition brings together over 100 Station Commanders, Unit Heads, and Commanding Officers. The focus of the workshop is to foster collaboration and brainstorm innovative strategies for enhancing the administration of naval stations nationwide, including those in the island territories of Lakshadweep and Andaman & Nicobar Islands.

Central to the agenda are professional presentations by staff from Naval Headquarters (NHQ), Command Headquarters (Command HQ), and Station Commanders, facilitating the exchange of insights and best practices. The workshop also sees the participation of the Naval Welfare and Wellness Association (NWWA), underscoring the Navy’s commitment to holistic well-being.

A notable feature of this workshop is a dedicated session on the Early Intervention Centres (EICs) of the Indian Navy, spearheaded by the NWWA. These centers play a pivotal role in the early detection and intervention of developmental delays in children aged 0-6 years. By providing timely professional assistance, the EICs ensure that children receive the support they need to integrate seamlessly into mainstream education. With EICs established across all three naval commands, including in Delhi and Karwar, this initiative underscores the Navy’s dedication to nurturing its personnel and their families.

The workshop will be chaired by Vice Admiral Gurcharan Singh, Controller of Personnel Services (CPS), with opening and closing remarks delivered by Admiral Hari Kumar, the Chief of Naval Staff. The event promises to be a platform for collaboration, innovation, and collective advancement, reaffirming the Indian Navy’s commitment to excellence in administration and welfare.
