Indian Men’s Hockey Team Secures Dominant Victory Against Jamaica in FIH Hockey5s World Cup

Muscat: In a spectacular performance during their final Pool B match of the FIH Hockey5s Men’s World Cup Oman 2024, the Indian Men’s Hockey Team achieved a resounding 13-0 victory over Jamaica in Muscat, Oman.

India set the tone early in the game, with Maninder Singh (2’, 2’) scoring two quick goals with precision shots. The momentum continued as Uttam Singh (5’) and Manjeet (5) added one goal each, giving India a commanding 4-0 lead within the first six minutes.

Despite the substantial lead, India maintained relentless pressure on Jamaica’s defense, consistently launching attacks. Pawan Rajbhar (9’) and Gurjot Singh (14’) capitalized on these opportunities, extending India’s lead to 6-0 by halftime.

The second half saw a repeat of India’s aggressive strategy, focusing on ball possession and maintaining an offensive stance. This approach proved effective as Mohammed Raheel (16’, 27’), Mandeep Mor (23’, 27’), Manjeet (24’), and Maninder Singh (28’, 29’) collectively scored numerous goals, securing a dominant 13-0 win.

Following their earlier victories against Switzerland and a defeat against Egypt in the opening two Pool B matches on Sunday, India’s triumph against Jamaica ensures their place in the Quarter-Finals of the FIH Hockey5s World Cup Oman 2024, scheduled to be played on January 30.
