Indian Junior Women’s Hockey Team Set for European Tour: Hockey India Unveils Squad

New Delhi: Hockey India has revealed the roster for the Indian Junior Women’s Hockey Team set to embark on a crucial tour of Europe from May 21st to May 29. The team is geared up to compete in six matches across Belgium, Germany, and the Netherlands, facing tough opponents to hone their skills and gain valuable international exposure.

Led by defender Jyoti Singh, with midfielder Sakshi Rana serving as her deputy, the Indian contingent is eager to showcase their talent and determination on the global stage. The tour aims to provide the players with a platform to push their limits and refine their game, paving the way for future dominance in world hockey.

The itinerary kicks off with a match against Bredase Hockey Vereniging Push in Breda on May 21st, followed by a clash with Belgium at the same venue on May 22nd. Subsequently, the team will face Belgium again, this time in their homeland on May 24th. The tour continues with back-to-back encounters against Germany on May 26th in Breda and May 27th in Germany. The final showdown will take place against Oranje Rood in Breda on May 29th.

The squad comprises a blend of experienced players and promising talents across all positions. In the goalkeeping department, Aditi Maheshwari and Nidhi will provide solidity between the sticks. The defensive lineup features stalwarts like Jyoti Singh, Lalthantluangi, and Anjali Barwa, among others, while the midfield will be marshaled by players like Kshetrimayum Sonia Devi and Rajani Kerketta. The forward line boasts dynamic attackers such as Lalrinpuii and Kanika Siwach, eager to make their mark on the international stage.

Captain Jyoti Singh expressed confidence in the team’s camaraderie and talent, emphasizing the importance of the tour in enhancing their skills and understanding of the game. Vice-Captain Sakshi Rana echoed her sentiments, highlighting the opportunity to learn from different playing styles and elevate their game to new heights.
