Indian External Affairs Minister Engages in Bilateral Talks at Munich Security Conference

 

New Delhi:  Dr. S. Jaishankar, India’s External Affairs Minister, actively participated in the Munich Security Conference, leveraging the platform to strengthen diplomatic ties with several nations. The minister shared his engagements and interactions through a series of tweets, highlighting the significance of the discussions.

During the conference, Dr. Jaishankar called on the President-elect of Finland and the Prime Minister of Bangladesh. The bilateral talks extended to include Argentina, Armenia, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, European Union, Greece, Germany, Norway, Palestine, Peru, Poland, Portugal, Saudi Arabia, the United Kingdom, and the United States. These dialogues aimed to foster collaboration, discuss shared challenges, and explore opportunities for enhanced cooperation.

As part of the Munich Security Conference, Dr. Jaishankar actively participated in a panel discussion on Multilateralism and engaged in a lunch discussion organized by the Observer Research Foundation (ORF). The minister also took the opportunity to interact with Munich Young Leaders, sharing insights and perspectives on global affairs.

Notably, Dr. Jaishankar hosted EU Ambassadors in New Delhi in the aftermath of the Munich Security Conference. The meeting provided a platform to express gratitude for their contributions in strengthening India’s relationships with their respective nations. The discussions delved into various facets of India-EU ties and touched upon regional and global issues of mutual interest.

The flurry of engagements showcased India’s commitment to active diplomacy, multilateralism, and fostering robust partnerships on the global stage. Dr. Jaishankar’s interactions exemplify India’s dedication to navigating the complex landscape of international relations, contributing to global peace, and addressing shared challenges through dialogue and cooperation.
