Earlier in the morning during the first round of singles, Indian badminton player Lakshya Sen gave India a 1-0 lead by defeating Indonesian player Anthony Ginting by 8-21, 21-17, 21-16.
In the second round, Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty registered a win in the first doubles. The duo defeated Mohammad Ahsan and Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo by 18-21, 23-21, 21-19. Satwiksairaj and Chirag gave India a 2-0 lead.
During the final round, Indian player Kidambi Srikanth defeated Jonatan Christie in the sets of 21-15, 23-21 in the second singles to seal India’s maiden win with 3-0.
