India to Host 71st Miss World Pageant, Showcasing Beauty, Diversity, and Empowerment

New Delhi: India is all set to host the 71st Miss World pageant, marking a significant return after a hiatus of 28 years. The announcement was made by the organizers, and the event is slated to be streamed and telecast globally.

Taking to social media platform X, the official page of Miss World quoted Chairman Julia Morley CBE, saying, “Excitement fills the air as we proudly announce India as the host country for Miss World. A celebration of beauty, diversity, and empowerment awaits. Get ready for a spectacular journey! #MissWorldIndia #BeautyWithAPurpose.”

The last time India hosted the prestigious pageant was in 1996 in Bengaluru.

India has a remarkable Miss World legacy, with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan winning in 1994, Diana Hayden in 1997, Yukta Mookhey in 1999, Priyanka Chopra Jonas in 2000, and Manushi Chhillar in 2017.

The 71st Miss World event is scheduled to take place between February 18 and March 9. Venues include the G-20 site, Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi, and the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai.

Key events during the pageant include ‘The Opening Ceremony’ and ‘India Welcomes the World Gala’ on February 20 at Hotel Ashok in New Delhi, with the global finale set for March 9 at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai.

Julia Evelyn Morley CBE, Chairman and CEO of the Miss World Organization, expressed her excitement about returning to India, stating, “Returning to India, a country that I adore, and bringing 120 National champions to experience the beauty of this nation is a tremendous honor. Miss World is not just one event; it’s a month-long festival to celebrate female achievement.”

Munish Gupta, Advisor to the Miss World Organization in India, highlighted that the event would showcase India’s rich culture, traditions, heritage, arts, crafts, textiles, cuisine, tourism, and more to a global audience.

This year’s Miss World contestants will have their media channel on MissWorld.com to demonstrate why they should advance to the Top 20 finals.

The event includes various competitions like the World Top Designer Award, Miss World Top Model, Miss World Sports Challenge, Miss World Talent Final, Multi-Media Challenge, Head To Head Challenge Final, Continental Beauty With A Purpose Challenge, and the Miss World Red Carpet Special.
