Inaugural Run of Sambalpur-Hatia-Gorakhpur Maurya Express Marks a Milestone in Rail Connectivity

 

Sambalpur:  In a significant development for the rail infrastructure of the region, the Minister of Railways, Communications and Electronics & Information Technology, Ashwini Vaishnaw, and the Union Minister of Education, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Dharmendra Pradhan, jointly flagged off the inaugural run of the Sambalpur-Hatia-Gorakhpur Maurya Express from Sambalpur Railway Station.

The ceremony, attended by various dignitaries, including Hon’ble MLA of Rengali, Shri Nauri Nayak, was held with enthusiasm and optimism for the enhanced connectivity that this extension promises.

The DSambalpur-Hatia-Gorakhpur Maurya Express, which currently operates as a special train from Sambalpur, will soon commence its regular service on the extended route. The exact date for the regular service will be announced shortly. Importantly, the extension to Sambalpur has been strategically planned without disrupting the scheduled timings and stoppages of the train between Hatia and Gorakhpur.

The extension of this train to Sambalpur is being hailed as a game-changer for the residents of Jharkhand, Bihar, West Bengal, and Uttar Pradesh. Serving as a lifeline for the people of Western Odisha, the extended route will cater to various needs, including business, education, and medical treatment.

Divisional Railway Manager, Shri Tushar Kant Pandey, expressed his gratitude and welcomed the guests and dignitaries who graced the occasion. He emphasized the positive impact of the extended service on the region’s tourism and cultural exchange, fostering direct connectivity between Gorakhpur and Sambalpur.

The DSambalpur-Hatia-Gorakhpur Maurya Express will have crucial stoppages at Rengali, Jharsuguda, and Rourkela between Sambalpur and Hatia. This strategic route aims to facilitate convenient travel for passengers while contributing to the economic and social development of the regions it traverses.

As the train embarks on its extended journey, it is anticipated to strengthen the ties between different states and promote seamless connectivity for the benefit of the people. The commencement of regular service is eagerly awaited, bringing with it the promise of enhanced transportation and economic opportunities for the communities along the route.
