
Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted light rainfall in several districts of Odisha over three days, beginning February 19.
According to an IMD statement, light rain is expected at one or two places in Mayurbhanj, Keonjhargarh, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, and Balasore on February 19. A yellow warning has been issued for thunderstorms accompanied by lightning at isolated locations in Mayurbhanj, Keonjhargarh, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, and Balasore.
On February 20, light to moderate rain is likely in Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Deogarh, Sundargarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam, and Balasore. The IMD has also issued a yellow warning for these districts, cautioning residents about possible weather disturbances.
Similarly, light rain is expected in Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, and Balasore on February 21. Meanwhile, the weather agency has predicted a dry spell across the state over the next 24 hours.
Authorities have advised residents in the affected districts to take necessary precautions, particularly in light of the yellow warnings issued for thunderstorms and lightning. The IMD continues to monitor the evolving weather conditions and will provide updates as necessary.
