IIT Professor Suspended For Abusing Students During Online Class

Kharagpur: An Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur professor has been suspended for abusing Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST) students during an online class.

During an online class in the month of April, professor Seema Singh addressed the students as ‘bloody bast****’ and even threatened to make sure that they fail the examinations.

A video of Seema’s class has gone viral where she could be heard abusing the students and threatening.
A fact-finding committee was set up after the incident where Seema Singh was found guilty.

On the basis of the report of the fact-finding committee, Seema Singh has been suspended from her job. She could resume her duty only after an inquiry as per the procedure.
