IICA Inaugurates ‘Samarthya 2025’ to Foster Innovative Corporate Rescue Strategies

Manesar: The Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs (IICA) inaugurated ‘Samarthya: National Competition on Corporate Rescue Strategies 2025’ on March 22, 2025, at its campus in Manesar, Haryana. The two-day event, held on March 22 and 23, provides a dynamic platform for students to develop innovative turnaround strategies for financially distressed businesses, equipping them with practical problem-solving skills in corporate rescue and insolvency resolution.

The competition aims to bridge the gap between academic learning and real-world corporate challenges by engaging participants in financial analysis, restructuring strategies, and case-based problem-solving. Students will present their corporate rescue solutions to a panel of esteemed judges, receiving valuable industry exposure, expert feedback, and networking opportunities with insolvency professionals, legal experts, and business leaders.

The inauguration ceremony began with the traditional lighting of the lamp by distinguished judges and dignitaries, symbolizing the formal commencement of the event. Student Convenors Ayushi Agarwal, Eepsa Bansal, and Harshitha Ulphas introduced the competition, highlighting its significance in preparing future corporate leaders.

Delivering the inaugural address, Dr. Pyla Narayana Rao, Course Director and Head of the School of Corporate Law at IICA, emphasized the importance of corporate rescue strategies in ensuring financial resilience and business sustainability. Pavithra Ravi, Professor at Gujarat National Law University, provided opening remarks, offering insights into the competition’s objectives and the evolving landscape of corporate restructuring.

A special video message from Kapileshwar Bhalla, LL.M Faculty, encouraged participants to apply their financial expertise, critical thinking, and strategic problem-solving skills. He applauded the organizers for creating an impactful learning experience and extended his best wishes to all competitors.

The ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks by Pramod Jangra, Course Coordinator of LL.M (IBL) at IICA, who expressed gratitude to the speakers, participants, and organizing committee for their contributions in making the event a success.

Throughout the competition, students will tackle practical case studies simulating financial distress scenarios, with their solutions evaluated on feasibility, innovation, and strategic insight. By hosting ‘Samarthya 2025,’ IICA aims to nurture a new generation of corporate leaders equipped to navigate complex financial challenges and drive sustainable business recoveries.
