In the first game of the day, Hockey Bengal clinched a hard-fought victory against Hockey Mizoram with a scoreline of 1-0. In the second match, the Hockey Association of Odisha showcased dominance against Hockey Maharashtra, securing a thrilling 2-1 victory. Despite Maharashtra’s resilient defense in the initial quarter, Odisha maintained possession and created several opportunities. Dipi Monika Toppo (23’) finally broke the deadlock with a goal from open play, putting Odisha in the lead. Maharashtra fought back, with Sunita Kumari (51’) leveling the score with a well-placed shot. However, Odisha regained the lead in the dying moments as Karuna Minz (55’) capitalized on a penalty corner, sealing the victory for Odisha with a 2-1 triumph.
