
Bhubaneswar: Odisha FC acquires midfielder Hitesh Sharma, who has signed a two-and-a-half-year deal with the Kalinga Warriors. Having previously played for Hyderabad FC and ATK, Hitesh brings a wealth of experience to his new team.
A product of the Tata Football Academy, Hitesh Sharma started his journey with Mumbai in the I-League. After making a few appearances, he transitioned to ATK in the Indian Super League, amassing a total of 34 appearances for the Kolkata-based side. Subsequently, he joined Hyderabad FC in the 2019-20 season and quickly established himself as one of the standout players in his position.
During the 2021-22 season, Hitesh Sharma and Hyderabad FC clinched the ISL Cup, adding a significant accomplishment to his career. Expressing his excitement about joining the Kalinga Warriors, Hitesh said, “I am very happy to have joined the Kalinga Warriors. They have been improving year on year, and that is something that attracted me to the club. There is a sense of unity and togetherness in the squad. I can’t wait to get started.”
Odisha FC Head Coach, Sergio, commented on the new signing, saying, “Hitesh is a technically very good player; he is intelligent and knows how to interpret the game very well. He is a player who can help us in the present and the future of this project.” Odisha FC looks forward to the positive impact Hitesh Sharma will bring to the team in the upcoming seasons.
