Historic Success: DRDO’s Mission Divyastra Marks Milestone with Agni-5 Missile’s MIRV Technology

 

New Delhi:  As the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) successfully conducted the first flight test of the indigenously developed Agni-5 missile with Multiple Independently Targetable Re-entry Vehicle (MIRV) technology today, the nation erupted with pride and jubilation. The milestone was met with widespread praise from top leaders of the country.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to social media platform ‘X’ to express his pride in the DRDO scientists and their remarkable accomplishment. He posted, “Proud of our DRDO scientists for Mission Divyastra, the first flight test of indigenously developed Agni-5 missile with Multiple Independently Targetable Re-entry Vehicle (MIRV) technology.”

The Vice-President of India, Jagdeep Dhankhar, also extended his heartfelt congratulations on the success of Mission Divyastra. In a post on the same platform, he stated, “Congratulations on the success of Mission Divyastra! This phenomenal achievement by DRDO is well in sync with Bharat’s overall growth trajectory. The first flight test of Agni-5 missile with Multiple Independently Targetable Re-entry Vehicle (MIRV) technology is a testament to India’s indigenous defence capabilities and innovative spirit.”

The Agni-5 missile, known for its long-range capabilities, now stands as a symbol of India’s self-reliance in developing advanced defense technologies. The integration of MIRV technology enhances the missile’s ability to independently target multiple locations, significantly bolstering India’s strategic defense capabilities.

Mission Divyastra not only marks a significant achievement in the field of missile technology but also underscores India’s commitment to advancing its defense capabilities through indigenous research and development. The successful test is expected to contribute to the nation’s overall security preparedness, showcasing India as a force to be reckoned with in the global defence arena.
