Govt Promises Full Support for Renewable Energy Manufacturing

New Delhi: In a crucial meeting aimed at boosting India’s renewable energy sector, Minister of State for Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), Shripad Yesso Naik, met with representatives from various renewable industry associations, including the All-Indian Solar Industries Association, to discuss the Production-Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme and other incentives to promote domestic manufacturing.

The discussions primarily focused on the PLI scheme, a pivotal initiative designed to enhance Indian manufacturing capabilities in the renewable energy sector. This scheme aims to provide financial incentives to companies based on their output, encouraging more investments in solar and other renewable energy technologies.

Shripad Yesso Naik assured the industry associations of the MNRE’s unwavering support, underlining the government’s dedication to accelerating the transition to a low-carbon economy. “Our commitment to renewable energy is steadfast. We are focused on creating an environment that fosters growth, innovation, and sustainability in the sector,” said Naik.

Accompanying the Minister, Secretary MNRE, Bhupinder Singh Bhalla, echoed these sentiments, emphasizing the Ministry’s dedication to fostering growth and innovation in the renewable energy industry. “We are here to ensure that the renewable energy sector thrives and meets its full potential, driving India’s ambitions on the global stage,” Bhalla stated.

The meeting marked a significant step towards strengthening collaboration between the government and industry stakeholders. This partnership is seen as vital for achieving India’s ambitious renewable energy targets and positioning the country as a leader in the global renewable energy landscape.

Industry representatives expressed optimism about the government’s initiatives and pledged their support to work collaboratively towards achieving these goals. The discussions are expected to pave the way for more concrete actions and policies that will bolster India’s renewable energy manufacturing sector.
