New Delhi: In a significant step towards ensuring safer workplaces for women, the Ministry of Women and Child Development has launched the SHe-Box portal, an online system aimed at enhancing the implementation of the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition, and Redressal) Act, 2013 (SH Act).
The SHe-Box portal serves as a centralized repository and complaint monitoring system for cases of workplace sexual harassment. It facilitates the filing, tracking, and resolution of complaints while maintaining strict confidentiality.
The portal simplifies the complaint process, enabling women from all sectors—government, private, and informal—to report grievances without fear. In cases where the workplace IC is not registered, the system notifies state and district nodal officers to facilitate early registration and address the complaint promptly.
The SH Act mandates a 90-day timeline for inquiry completion, and the portal provides tools to monitor adherence, ensuring timely resolution.
Minister of State for Women and Child Development, Savitri Thakur, highlighted the government’s commitment to safeguarding women’s rights at workplaces while announcing the portal in the Rajya Sabha. She emphasized that the SHe-Box portal aligns with the SH Act’s objectives to create harassment-free work environments.
The SHe-Box portal marks a pivotal advancement in addressing workplace sexual harassment, bridging gaps in monitoring, reporting, and resolving cases. This initiative underscores the government’s dedication to empowering women and fostering inclusive, safe workplaces across the country.
For further details and to file complaints, users can access the portal at SHe-Box Portal.
