Germany lifts the Hockey World Cup 2023, beats defending champion Belgium 5-4

Bhubaneswar: Germany won the Hockey World Cup 2023 after a thrilling match against Belgium held Kalinga Stadium on Sunday.

The three-time champions defeated the defending champions during a shootout with 5-4.

Both the teams fought strongly to register their win. They were equalled with 3-3 by the end of the match. It was the penalty shootout that decided the faith of the two teams. Germany won 5-4 in sudden death in front of a packed Kalinga Stadium.
